Koensrust Beach Shack
The Beach Shack is an old fisherman’s holiday cottage in a sandy cove on approximately 2km of secluded beach overlooking a series of rock pools and an ancient San fish trap – evidence that this has been a favoured fishing spot for centuries.
Whether you want to fish, swim, walk, explore rock pools or just laze around – the one thing the Beach Shack guarantees is seclusion and rest.
There is a large dining room and a kitchen with everything you need. We do however expect that all eating and living will take place on the large wooden deck and most of our guests braai outside every night.
The shack is well protected from the prevailing summer and winter winds.
There is an inside and an outside shower.
Both have hot water.
The Beach Shack is equipped with a gas stove and an electric fridge/freezer, gas hot water and electric lighting.
All linen and bedding is provided.
There are 2 USB ports in the kitchen for charging cell phones. No other electrical plugs for any appliances.
You will also not be able to get phone reception at the beach shack although you will get some reception further up the hill or out on the rocks at low tide.
The Beach Shack is at the foot of a very steep path. You need to be fit and able enough to carry all your goods down from the car park and up again when you vacate. There is a rope which will assist those who require it. Wear trainers with a good grip.
We cannot transport people.
If you or your guests are not fit and able to walk down and up a very steep path without assistance then unfortunately we cannot accommodate you at the beach shack and we suggest you look at either the Yard Cottage or the Kapstyl.
