
The Kapstyl
The Kapstyl is a delightful thatch roofed dwelling based on the typical Kapstyl-style design. it is the smaller of the 2 accommodations, sleeps 6 people and is situated 1 km from the beach. It has lovely views over the surrounding fynbos down to the distant ocean. 2 covered verandahs provide shade on 2 sides, one with the braai and glass screened walls which shelter guests from an easterly wind. There is an additional boma for outdoor braaing.
The interior is a cool welcome in the hotter summer months. An open-plan sitting and kitchen/dining area leads off to 2 downstairs bedrooms. 1 with queen sized bed and the other with 2 single beds. Upstairs under the thatch eaves are 2 mattresses on the attic floor. This is more suitable for teenagers and able bodied guests.
You may add a further 2 people in your own tent. Maximum guests at any one time is 8 people.
All linen and bath towels is provided. Please supply your own beach towels, toiletries and bath soap. The bathroom comprises of a bath, loo and hand basin. There is an outdoor open air shower. Both have hot water.
The kitchen has everything you need for simple living. Gas stove, large fridge / 3 drawer freezer. Coffee Plunger, dish washing liquid and drying cloths.
15 pieces of wood is supplied for each night booked.
Additional Information:
The Kapstyl is equipped with a gas geyser, a gas heater and electric lighting. No wall plugs are provided other than 2 USB ports in the kitchen to charge your cell phone. There is phone reception at the Kapstyl although data speeds can be slow. Bring canvas camp chairs for lounging on the stoep and your own beach brolly and extra blankets in the colder months.
Fishermen please make sure you have your fishing licenses and scale and gut the fish in the sea so the eels can feast on the entrails. Please do not discard this in the dirt bins at the Kapstyl.
Accompanying pets must be house trained, please bring own bedding, food and water bowls.
Please be aware of the antelope grazing on nearby open fields.
